At Trace, we regularly review and update our emissions factors to ensure your carbon footprint reflects the most accurate and up-to-date information available.

Regular Reviews and Updates

We review our emissions factors every 6 months to ensure they remain aligned with the latest data and methodologies. As part of this process, we also check for updates to key emissions factor databases (such as FootprintLab and other recognised sources) on a 6-month cycle.

When updated datasets are released, we assess their applicability and integrate them into our system where relevant. This allows your footprint to reflect real-world changes in emissions intensity across sectors and supply chains.

Adding New Emissions Factors for Clients

If your business has spend categories or activities not yet covered in our emissions factor library, we’re here to help. On request, we can:

1. Search for a reliable emissions factor from trusted databases, peer-reviewed sources, or reputable life cycle assessments.

2. Validate the factor to ensure it's appropriate for your reporting context.

3. Add it to your account for use in future reporting.

This ensures your footprint remains tailored, complete, and accurate.
