How Does Trace's Peer Benchmarking Feature Work?

Our peer benchmarking feature provides an indicative comparison of your carbon footprint against similar companies in your industry. These benchmarks are constructed using data from Trace customers within the same industry category, based on their most recent verified carbon footprints.

We also provide a confidence level—low, medium, or high—indicating the robustness of the benchmark. This confidence level is determined by the number of companies in our dataset for that specific industry; a higher number of companies equates to higher confidence in the benchmark. We'll be adding external companies to the data set soon.

The industries we show at the moment are high-level, based on our current customer base. Customers can change and compare to other industries, in case the one selected isn't the best match. We'll also be building this out with more granular and detailed industries in the future.
