Refrigeration Data Collection
This section helps users calculate refrigeration-related emissions based on the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of refrigerant gases using the following formula: Leak Rate (%) × Charge (kg) × GWP
Steps for Users

1. Select Equipment Type
This section applies to refrigeration-related equipment, such as:
-
Factory air conditioning
-
Vehicle air conditioning
-
Refrigeration for food storage
Ensure you select the correct category based on the primary purpose of the equipment.
2. Choose a Category
Users must select the correct category for their equipment:
-
Stationary Air Conditioning - Fixed cooling systems such as office buildings, factories, and warehouses.
-
Mobile Air Conditioning - Cooling systems in vehicles such as cars, buses, and trains.
-
Refrigeration in Cold Food Chains - Refrigeration used in food storage and transport.
-
Domestic Refrigeration - Home-based refrigerators and freezers.
-
Other - If your equipment does not fall into any of these categories.
3. Pick a Product Type
For example, in Mobile Air Conditioning, users can specify if it’s for small cars or large vehicles. Selecting the right subcategory ensures that default values are correctly applied.
4. Enter Refrigeration Details
-
Leak Rate (%):
-
This represents the estimated annual percentage of refrigerant lost due to leaks.
-
The system provides predefined values based on industry standards, but you can adjust them if you have specific data for your equipment.
-
Example:
0.073
means 7.3% leak rate. -
If you are unsure, check with your equipment manufacturer or maintenance team.
-
-
Charge (kg):
-
Enter the total refrigerant charge per unit of equipment.
-
Find this on your equipment label (e.g., R410A / 1.6 kg, as shown in the uploaded label example).
-
If the label is not accessible, refer to the manufacturer’s manual.
-
-
Number of Units:
-
Input the number of identical units in operation.
-
If you are unsure, check company inventory records.
-
5. Select Refrigerant Type
-
Choose the appropriate refrigerant gas from the dropdown list.
-
If the refrigerant is not listed, users can request an addition by contacting
support@our-trace.com
. -
Common refrigerants include R600a, R410A, and R134a. If in doubt, check your equipment label.
6. Select Entity
-
If your company has multiple entities, select the relevant one.
-
Each entity represents a different operational unit, ensuring that data is correctly attributed.
