Why does the emissions per employee figure in the Engage section not match the one in the Measure dashboard?

Great question! These two numbers are showing slightly different things:

  1. Engage section – This shows the average personal carbon footprint of your employees. It includes both work-related emissions (like commuting and working-from-home electricity) and non-work-related emissions (like diet, travel, and lifestyle choices). It’s designed to give employees insight into their own overall impact.

  2. Measure dashboard – This shows your emissions intensity per employee, which is calculated by dividing your business’s total carbon footprint by your number of employees. This metric helps you track progress over time—even as your team grows. If your emissions intensity is going down, it means your emissions per employee are improving, even if total emissions are rising.
