What reporting standards does Trace align to?
Trace’s carbon accounting is built on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the global standard for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.
Greenhouse Gas Protocol
All emissions calculations in Trace follow the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and related guidance. We use the GHG Protocol because it is the most widely accepted, technically robust, and regulator-backed framework for carbon accounting globally.
The GHG Protocol underpins the vast majority of mandatory and voluntary climate reporting regimes. Importantly, it is the foundation on which emissions reporting requirements under ISSB IFRS S2 are built. This ensures that emissions measured in Trace are suitable for ISSB-aligned climate disclosures and assurance.
You can access the underlying standards here:

Why this matters
Using GHG Protocol ensures that emissions data produced in Trace is consistent, comparable, and audit-ready. It also means companies can reuse the same carbon inventory across multiple reporting and compliance obligations without recalculating emissions under different methodologies.
Other standards and frameworks supported
Because Trace aligns to the GHG Protocol, carbon accounts produced in the platform are suitable for use across a wide range of reporting and target-setting frameworks, including:
- EDCI (private marketing ESG reporting framework)
Disclaimer
Outputs generated by the Trace platform are produced based on information provided by the customer and the methodologies applied within the platform. While Trace is designed to support accurate, consistent, and standards-aligned climate reporting, use of the platform does not in itself guarantee compliance with any specific regulatory, reporting, or assurance requirements.
Customers remain responsible for the completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of their inputs and for obtaining independent review, verification, or assurance over their emissions data, disclosures, and reports where required.
